Emily started out her career as a masters-level couples and family therapist, working in the field for about six years before leaving to be a writer and producer. She has written a book, Super You, as well as for TV. She is the booker and producer of The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail, a live stand up show and TV show. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband, Kumail Nanjiani.
