After the cathedral closed around 6:45 p.m. local time, the fire started five or six minutes later, The roof of famed Notre Dame in French capital collapses as firefighters struggle to contain the blaze. It feels as though the very heart of France and the soul of Europe have been suddenly and viciously ripped out in Easter week 2019. Notre Dame will rise again.
